Mary Agnes Miller age 95 of Kenton , Ohio passed away Friday August 3, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at the Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center .  She was born January 21, 1917 in Ottoville , OH the daughter of Joseph H. and Dora (Vincke) Van Oss.  She married Merrick L. Benson on Aug. 7, 1938 and he passed away on Dec. 10, 1944.  She then married C. Wilbur Miller on August 31, 1963 and he survives in Kenton.
She is survived by 3 sons Joseph W. (Paula) Benson of Las Vegas, NV; James (Carol) Benson of Maumee, OH; and Joseph L. (Kathy) Benson of Marion, OH; nine grandchildren and fifteen gt. grandchildren; a sister Dorothy Hovest of Glandorf, OH; two sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a son Gerald “Jerry” Benson; brothers Virgil J., Edmund G., Joseph F., and John J. Van Oss; sisters Alberta M. French, Mary Elizabeth Leist, and Carmalita Van Oss.
During her lifetime she had worked at B.F. Goodrich and was a Homemaker.  She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Kenton.She went to Convent School for the first year of high school and worked a hospital in Mishawaka during the summer.  She kept house for her dad and younger brothers and sisters and took care of her mother after she became ill.  She had foster children, was a CCD teacher, Lector and Eucharistic Minister, a liaison between teacher and Council President of St. Joseph ’s Womens Guild, D.C.C.W. President of Vicariate and a D.C.C.W. board member.  She was St. Joseph ’s Parish representative to Vicariate meetings.  She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.  She was a past President and Treasurer of the Hardin County Right to Life .  She had a religious shop in her home at Marion , Ohio .  She and her husband Wilbur hosted several Foreign Exchange Students from Germany , Brazil , Columbia , and Norway .  She was a volunteer at Hardin Memorial Hospital for 32 years.  She and her husband are members of the Hardin County Armory Restoration.
The family wants to thank Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation for all their love and caring and comfort for Agnes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday August 9, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception church in Kenton with Father Anthony Dinovo officiating.  Visitation will be held Wednesday August 8, 2012 at the Schindewolf Stevens Stout Funeral Home in Kenton from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.  A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Marion , Ohio at 2:00 p.m. Thursday August 8, 2012.

    Hello Joe and Jim......Sorry to hear of the passing of your mom...although you had shared health was declining.  I hope your dad is handling this well, and I am sure you two are providing good support.  You're family will be in our prayers this week, as I'm sure she will be tidying up heaven....may your memories be your strength
